Innate
Thanks to her bloodline, there is some magic that comes naturally to Sofia for which she needs no gestures, spells, or chants. They are simply powers that she happen naturally for her. Abilities such as Supernatural Senses which allows her to sense magic (Dormant or Active), supernatural creatures, even things that are cloaked from normal senses. It also bleeds in to tightening her natural senses to a supernatural degree. Her Second Sight allows her to see spirits of those that have passed or are making use of the Astral Realm. There’s also abilities such as Transmutation, Levitation, Telepathy, Telekinesis, Teleportation, Ki Manipulation which allows her to harness the energy of the world around her into blasts or bolts and, Astral Projection
Birthright
Not only is she the daughter of two Supreme Sorcerers, which means she's got more potential to be able to handle magic (though all humans are capable of it) but Sofia is also one-quarter Faltine which gives her innate magical abilities outside of spellcasting. It also gives her extra personal energies to draw from that are far beyond a normal human.
Elemental
One of the first kinds of magic Sofia learned is Elemental magic. With it, she can harness and control the Weather, Plant, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and to some degree metal and gemstones, bending them all to her will. This is one of the easiest magics for Sofia to use and comes the most natural to her, draining the least amount of energy aside from her Innate magic.
Dark
Perhaps one of the more difficult types of magic for Sofia to control over all, she still has a long list of spells and abilities at her back and call using it. Power such as Mind Manipulation, Illusions (Power Level: Superior), Energy Weapons (Power Level: Superior), Time Travel (dangerous and normally forbidden), Reality Warping (dangerous and normally forbidden), Dimensional Travel, minor summoning and more.
White
This magic is one that Sofia took to quickly. She struggles with aspects of it. Anything that would benefit her such as self healing, dispelling magic worked on her, etc is somewhat difficult for her but use of it on others comes with was for her. Some of what she’s capable of with this is Healing, Premonitions, Enchantments, Dispelling, Warding, Energy Shields, and Banishing just to name a few of the spells.
Dimensional
This magic is probably the most difficult for Sofia to use because it deals, normally, with specific beings such as Agamotto, Morpheus, Oshtur, Hoggoth, Raggadorr, Watoomb, Valtorr, as well as various Dieties. This magic is meant to summon or call on them to perform very specific actions stronger than she would normally be capable of such as Binding, Teleportation, Sight, Healing, Shields, Flames, etc. This is also the most rote of magics and must be followed perfectly or else the call could backfire terribly.
Dance
Dancing is something that Sofia loves to do and a few were taught to her on the streets. When she learned that she could combine dancing with various fighting style, she chose a few dance styles to focus on and learned them all exceptionally well. Her current list of styles is: Hip Hop, Street Dancing, Belly Dancing, Silk Dancing, and Fan Dancing. Each of these is, in some way, incorporated into her fighting or her gymnastics, allowing her to create and use new styles and moves in all of it.
Fighting
Kyudo, Shaolin Kung Fu, Kendo, Jujutsu, Judo, Aikido, Krav Maga, Arnis, Jeet Kune Do, Shurl-ryu, Capoeira, Taekwon-Do, Kenpo and Fan Fighting. While this may certainly seem like a long list of martial arts to learn, Sofia chose these ones because many of them overlap or use knowledge she was already learned and therefore became much easier to learn and weave together. She chose to study martial arts for the same reason she studies dance, parkour and gymnastics, to strengthen and master her body and then expand those boundaries in order to allow her to push harder and faster and longer when necessary. Mastery of the body is a key part to Mastery of Magic.
Gymnastics
Growing up, essentially, on the streets, parkour was something she learned early on and took to exceptionally well. When she was old enough and had access, gymnastics seemed like the natural extension of this. She was a natural at it and learned quickly even the most difficult of maneuvers. To this day, her gymnastics and parkour are things she practices regularly to keep her body where she believes it needs to be and as a way to anchor and center her energies.
Languages
Not only is this one of the things that Sofia went to college for but it’s a passion of her’s. Sofia adores languages of every kind and studying ancient magics, she focuses a lot in very old languages. Some of the languages she knows fluently are: Latin, French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabian, Cantonese, German, Most Ancient/Dead languages and Hieroglyphs.
Streets
During her time on the streets, which she would have rather been on than with her ‘guardian’, Sofia picked up a myriad of skills. Sleight of hand, pick pocketing, lock picking, parkour, blending in, and acting. She even learned how to be a very charismatic and hard to refuse young woman. Needless to say, Sofi can survive on the streets just fine if need be.
Mind
Sofi’s mind is like very few others. She’s exceptionally intelligent, can think on multiple streams and levels at once, she seems to be able to absorb and store knowledge without issue, she’s almost inhumanly perceptive, has a knack for tactics and puzzles. She’s sharp witted and is quick to catch on. A kind of controlled chaos, Sofia’s mind is part of what has allowed her to survive as she has and master the magic she has as quickly as she has.
Sanctum
The Sanctum technically belongs to the Sorcerer Supreme and not Sofia personally. However, it is her ‘base of operations’ as well as her responsibility while she holds the title. The building was built on a magical nexus, and it became so saturated with mystical energy that it now seems alive. Space bends inside, making it far larger than it appears. There are several dozen rooms inside, used for various purposes. The entire building building has been mystically warded, reinforced with magical construction materials and equipped a number of defensive magical devices, spells and traps. Inside, various artifacts are hidden away for the Sorcerer Supreme to access as needed. Artifacts like The Astral Ring, Cauldron of the Cosmos, Purple Gem, First Tarot Deck, Orb of Agamotto, The Hands of the Dead and Atlantean Dreamwave. Just to name a few.
Weapons
Over the years, and thanks to her particular method of learning and her ability of retention as well as her drive and determination to push her limits and then go beyond them, Sofia has learned and almost master several weapons such as the Baston, Sarong, Latigo, and Tessen. All unusual weapons but her preferred ones all the same and while she doesn’t use weapons often, she can be quite dangerous with any of them. If asked to pick a favorite, she’d choose the Tessen.
Artifacts
During her magical studies and her time as Sorcerer Supreme, thus far, Sofia has drawn the attention of two mystical artifacts which have ‘claimed’ her and she can occasionally be seen using. She wields:
Wicked Wands of Watoomb: Wands that have combined into a single one and are used mainly to enhance, gather, focus, multiple and redirect magical energy when necessary. The wand can be controlled solely by Sofia’s thoughts and using it, she can harness the energy it manipulates to block attacks (mystical and physical), channel it into concussive and high impact blasts or erect shields around herself and others. She can also use it to help her harness and channel elemental magic, open portals to wherever she desires (including other dimensions) and allows her to scry, on the spot, as long as it’s a person, place or thing she’s at least somewhat familiar with.
The Staff of the Living Tribunal: Probably her favorite of the two artifacts, the Staff can extended to segments similar to chain-links, allowing it to be used as a whip or flail. It can also exert greater force than the user can exert, as it can send opponents flying when struck with it and can support the user's weight without breaking, which allows it to be used to swing from structures.
Libraries
Her position as Sorceress Supreme affords her access to the lmassive library within the Sanctum which holds many powerful, rare and ancient pieces such as The Book of Cagliostro, Book of Vishanti, Book of Demonicus, Book of Eibon, Tomje of Oshutr, The Scrolls of Watoomb and many more. She has also started building her own personal library at her home in Gotham.
Willpower
By nature as well as years of strengthening her mind and body, synchronizing them and anchoring them, pushing the boundaries, Sofia has an almost indomitable will, making neigh impossible to breach her mind or force her to do something against her wishes.
Underestimated
Sofia looks much younger than she is and so more often than not, people underestimate her, figuring she doesn't have the knowledge or experience needed. They couldn't be more wrong.
Learning
Sofia is an exceptionally fast learner. Not only does she simply absorb knowledge and information but she also has a habit of using Astral Projection to allow her body to rest yet extend the time she has to learn, making it easier for her to learn far more and far faster than most people. She seems to do it at an almost inhuman pace.
Memory
A blessing and a curse both, Sofia's got an steel trap of a memory. And a photographic one as well. Once she's learned something, the chances of her forgetting it are slim to none, really.
Chameleon
Sofia is a 'social chameleon'. No matter the situation, place or social class she can bend her personality and mannerisms to seamlessly fit in as needed without losing herself in the process.
Voice
One of the things Sofi is proud of is her voice. She's an amazing singer and without any training what so ever.
Temper
Sofia’s got a wicked temper, compounded by other issues, that she’s had to learn to control over the years through various techniques. Even still, there are certain triggers that can push her over the edge before she has a chance to lock herself down. In these instances, she loses herself and may well not remember anything when she calms down. With the power she wields and the self defense she knows, this can be a dangerous thing for everyone involved.
Distrustful
Sofi has serious trust issues that stem from her childhood. Issues that she’s never fully overcome. There’s only a few people she genuinely trusts in the world and they could be counted on one hand with fingers left over. Everyone else is always regarded with severe suspicion. This results in Sofia not being the most social of people and what most would assume as lonely given that she keeps everyone at arms length or further.
Authority
Because of the way she grew up, Sofia has serious issues with authority. These issues have followed her even into her adult life. She answers to no one but herself and while she respects the law of man, feels it fails more often than it succeeds. She sets herself beyond authority for many reasons and trying to force it on her, in any way, will make her dig her heels in and do the exact opposite most of the time. She doesn’t like being told what to do or have someone make the decisions for her and she will push back hard and fast on anyone who tries. Needless to say, this can cause her some serious issues.
Energy
Magic takes energy. Intentional, skilled and practiced use of magic can be somewhat draining. Non-trained or emotional use of magic can be *very* draining. Even in her adult life, there are times when Sofia’s control can slip if she’s suffering from emotional overload. Moments like that drain her very quickly. In either case, if she doesn’t take time to rest and recharge her energy, she could push herself right into a coma.
Abandoned
Being sent away as a child has a left a very deep scar on Sofia. To the point that there are some magic abilities she struggles with. Healing is a prime example of this. She can heal others just fine but struggles to heal herself. It’s a mental block that harkens back to the thought of ‘I was unwanted so I’m not worthy of being saved’. Any magic that is meant to heal or strengthen her, she struggles to manage. She can do it but it isn’t as strong or instantaneous as is it for her to cast one someone else.
Lives
Sofia, technically, leads three separate lives. The one as Sofia Strange, who uses her degrees on a freelance basis. The one as Sorceress Supreme who defends the Realm of Earth against all magical attacks. And the one as Verefica, who uses the power she has access to in order to help where the law of man can’t. Or won’t. This can be very tiring at times and it’s difficult, if not sometimes impossible, to keep the three lives separate though she certainly tries!
Boundries
With all the issues, problems and abuse Sofia endured as a child and young adult, she has become a very driven woman. She throws herself into learning anything and everything as a way to deal with her anger and other issues. Dance, martial arts, knowledge… Anything and everything she can get her hands on. Unfortunately, she’s only human (mostly) and has boundaries that her body insists she abides by. Yes, she can push and stretch them but more than once, and it’s a habit she still has to this day, she’ll push herself past healthy. She’ll forget to eat, lose track of time, forgo sleep… If she’s not careful, she will push herself until her body forces a shut down to recover.
Obligated
Sofia has the tendency to take on responsibilities that aren’t necessarily her’s to take on simply because -something- needs done and she has the power and ability to do it when no one else is willing. It’s a self imposed pressure, though she doesn’t fully realize she’s doing it, but an added stress on her mentally, emotionally and in her life none the less and is yet one more thing that wears on her.
Stubborn
If it’s something that Sofia believes to be right, concerns someone (though they’re few) that she cares about, or something she is passionate about, she can be extremely stubborn on her stance of it. Almost unreasonably so. This can cause quite a few arguments and more often that not, it takes her being proven wrong to change her opinion. Not often a good thing, really!
Past
Sofia has a very dark past. Things have happened to her and she’s done things she’s down right ashamed of and have left her more than a little broken. It would take some digging to find the events but should they come to light, they could destroy the reputation she has worked to build and if discredited, her ‘jobs’ would become much more difficult. Even impossible in some cases. Her past also still haunts her in her nightmares and occasionally seems into her waking world when things trigger the memories she’s worked hard to repress, making if difficult for her to focus or function for a bit.
